
James Wilson McDill (4 March 1834-28 February 1904) was a member of the US House of Representatives (R-IO 8) from 4 March 1873 to 3 March 1877 (preceding William P. Hepburn) and a US Senator from 8 March 1881 to 3 March 1883 (succeeding Samuel J. Kirkwood and preceding James F. Wilson).
Biography[]
James Wilson McDill was born in Monroe, Ohio on 4 March 1834, and he became a lawyer in Afton, Iowa in 1856 and was elected Union County judge in 1860. He also served in the US House of Representatives from 1873 to 1877, on the Board of Railroad Commissioners from 1878 to 1881, and in the US Senate from 1881 to 1883. He died in 1904.
