
James Turner (7 November 1783-28 March 1861) was a member of the US House of Representatives (D-MD 3) from 4 March 1833 to 3 March 1837, succeeding George C. Washington and preceding John T.H. Worthington. Born in Bel Air, he served in the War of 1812 before farming in Parkton. he served in the state house from 1824 to 1834, in Congress, in the state house from 1837 to 1838 and in 1852 and 1854, and in the state senate from 1856 to 1858.
