
James S. Mitchell (1784-1844) was a member of the US House of Representatives (DR-PA 4) from 4 March 1821 to 3 March 1823 (succeeding Jacob Hostetter) and from PA-10 from 4 March 1823 to 3 March 1827 (preceding Adam King). Born in Rossville, he later relocated to Jefferson County, Ohio and Belleville, Illinois, where he died in 1844.
