
James Noble (16 December 1785 – 26 February 1831) was a US Senator from Indiana from 11 December 1816 to 26 February 1831, preceding Robert Hanna.
Biography[]
James Noble was born in Berryville, Virginia in 1785, and he moved to Campbell County, Kentucky when he was 10. He then settled in Brookville, Indiana in 1808, and he was elected to serve as one of Indiana's inaugural US Senators in 1816, serving until 1831. He later switched from the Democratic-Republican Party to the National Republican Party, and he died in office in 1831.
