James McFarlane

James McFarlane (died 17 July 1794) was an American Revolutionary War veteran and the leader of the Whiskey Rebellion in Pennsylvania in 1794. In 1794, he led 600 men in a rebellion against the Philadelphia government after Alexander Hamilton implemented a whiskey tax disproportionately disfavoring farmers on the frontier. McFarlane was killed during the Battle of Bower Hill in 1794.
