James Marsh (7 December 1921-19 September 1944) was a US Army Private First Class who served in the 502nd Pathfinders, 2nd Squad during World War II.
Biography[]
James Marsh was born in Altus, Oklahoma and he lived on a farm. He served in a regular Infantry division during the Tunisian Campaign (17 November 1942 – 13 May 1943). He fought in the tailend of the North African Campaign. In 1944, he joined up the 502nd P.I.R.
On June 6 1944, Marsh and his squad were flown over the Normandy countryside. Marsh fight in Battle of the Barquette Locks, Battle of Carentan and the Allied attack on St. Sauveur.
Marsh participated in Operation Market Garden and was killed in the bombing of Eindhoven in the Baptism.
