James Monroe Jones (1862-1928) was the Republican Mayor of Kansas City from 1896 to 1900, succeeding Webster Davis and preceding James A. Reed.

James Monroe Jones was born in Prospect, New York in 1862, and he moved to Kansas City in 1885 and practiced law before serving as Mayor from 1896 to 1900. He died in 1928.
