James Morgan Humphrey (21 September 1819-9 February 1899) was a member of the US House of Representatives (D-NY 30) from 4 March 1865 to 3 March 1869, succeeding John Ganson and preceding David S. Bennett.

Biography[]

James Morgan Humphrey was born in Holland, New York in 1819, and he became a lawyer in East Aurora in 1847. He served as Erie County district attorney from 1857 to 1859, in the State Senate from 1864 to 1865, in the US House of Representatives from 1865 to 1869, as a Superior Court of Buffalo judge from 1871 to 1873, and a lawyer until his retirement in 1894. He died in 1899.
