James Kennedy Moorhead (7 September 1806-6 March 1884) was a member of the US House of Representatives (R-PA 21) from 4 March 1859 to 3 March 1863 (succeeding David Ritchie and preceding John L. Dawson) and PA-22 from 4 March 1863 to 3 March 1869 (succeeding Robert McKnight and preceding James S. Negley).
Biography[]
James Kennedy Moorhead was born in Halifax, Pennsylvania in 1806, and he became a canal contractor. He served as Adjutant General of Pennsylvania in 1838 as a Democrat; he defected to the Know Nothings in 1854, and he went on to serve in the US House of Representatives from 1859 to 1869 and on the chamber of commerce of Pittsburgh from 1877 to 1884.
