James H

James Hamilton Goss (9 August 1820-31 October 1886) was a member of the US House of Representatives (R-SC 4) from 18 July 1868 to 3 March 1869, succeeding Milledge L. Bonham and preceding Alexander S. Wallace.

Biography[]

James Hamilton Goss was born in Union, South Carolina in 1820, and he served in the Confederate States Army militia during the American Civil War. He went on to serve as a Republican member of the US House of Representatives from 1868 to 1869, on the Union County Board of Commissioners from 1871 to 1874, and as Postmaster of Union from 1875 to 1884. He died in 1886.
