
James Blair (26 September 1786-1 April 1834) was a member of the US House of Representatives (DR-SC 9) from 4 March 1821 to 8 May 1822 (succeeding Joseph Brevard and preceding John Carter) and from SC-8 from 4 March 1829 to 1 April 1834 (succeeding John Carter and preceding Richard Irvine Manning I). Born in the Waxhaws to Irish immigrants, he served as Lancaster District sheriff before entering politics. He shot himself in 1834.
