
James Black (6 March 1793-21 June 1872) was a member of the US House of Representatives (D-PA 13) from 5 December 1836 to 3 March 1837 (succeeding Jesse Miller and preceding Charles McClure) and from PA-16 from 4 March 1843 to 3 March 1847 (succeeding John Snyder and preceding Jasper E. Brady). Born in Newport, he served in the state house from 1830 to 1831, in Congress, and as Perry County associate judge from 1842 to 1843.
