
James Addison Cravens (4 November 1818-20 June 1893) was a member of the US House of Representatives (D-IN 2) from 4 March 1861 to 4 March 1865, succeeding William Hayden English and preceding Michael C. Kerr.
Biography[]
James Addison Cravens was born in Rockingham County, Virginia on 4 November 1818, and he was raised in Hardinsburg, Indiana, became a livestock farmer, and served in the US Army during the Mexican-American War. He went on to serve in the State House from 1848 to 1849 and in the US House of Representatives from 1861 to 1865, and he died in 1893.
