Jamaat-ul-Ahrar was a Pakistani jihadist group formed in August 2014 by Omar Khalid Khorasani as a Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan splintergroup. The group was one of two factions of the Pakistani Taliban, the other being TNSM, which was led by Maulana Fazlullah, and the group did not recognize Maulana Fazlullah as the TTP's leader. The group praised the Islamic State, but it never pledged allegiance to the group; in March 2015, the group's spokesman claimed that Jamaat-ul-Ahrar was rejoining the TTP, although it would independently claim responsibility for the August 2016 Quetta bombing. On 27 August 2020, JuA formally rejoined the TTP after pledging allegiance to Emir Noor Wali Mehsud.
