Jamaah Ansharut Tauhid (JAT) was a Sunni Islamist terror group which was founded on 27 July 2008 as a splintergroup of Jemaah Islamiyah. Abu Bakar Baasyir founded the group, and it came to have bases across Aceh and Sulawesi; in 2014, after Baasyir pledged allegiance to the Islamic State caliphate, many members of the JAT split off from the main group.
