Jaish al-Haramoun

Jaish al-Haramoun was an Islamist coalition founded on 15 June 2015 during the Syrian Civil War.

History[]

With its name meaning "Army of Hermon" in Arabic, its goal was to liberate Quneitra Governorate and Rif Dimashq Governorate from the Syrian Arab Republic in the Syrian Civil War and probably liberate Mount Hermon in the Golan Heights from Israel. The operations room was founded on 15 June, consisting of Ahrar ash-Sham, the Christ Brigade, al-Nusra Front, and smaller opposition groups. Its first combat role was the 2nd Quneitra Offensive in June 2015, and it later fought in the Second Battle of Zabadani, which ended in a defeat for the rebels.
