Jair

Jair (died 1188 BC) was Judge of the Israelites from 1210 to 1188 BC, succeeding Tola and preceding Jephthah.

Biography[]

Jair was born in Gilead to the Tribe of Manasseh, the son of Segub ben Hezron. He fathered thirty sons who controlled just as many cities in Gilead, and he judged the Israelites from 1210 to 1188 BC. From 1206 to 1188 BC, the Philistines (Sea Peoples) and Ammonites oppressed the Israelites until they set aside their idols. Jair died in 1188 BC.
