Jaime Mulet

Jaime Mulet (3 August 1963-) was a Chilean deputy from 1998 to 2010 and from 2018. He was a member of the Christian Democratic Party until 2008, the Independent Regionalist Party from 2008 to 2010, the Regional and Popular Front from 2015 to 2017, and the Social Green Regionalist Federation from 2017.

Biography[]

Jaime Mulet was born in Vallenar, Chile in 1963, and he joined the Christian Democrats at age 17 and came to work as an attorney. He served as Secretary of Justice of the Atacama Region from 1990 to 1992 before serving as a deputy from 1998 to 2010 and from 2018. He defected to the Independent Regionalist Party in 2008, but he was fired in 2010 for supporting Eduardo Frei Ruiz-Tagle in that year's presidential election. He later formed his own Regional and Popular Front and Social Green Regionalist Federation parties, and he returned as a deputy in 2018.
