Jaime Herrera Beutler

Jaime Herrera Beutler (born 3 November 1978) was a member of the US House of Representatives (R-WA 3) from 3 January 2011 to 3 January 2023, succeeding Brian Baird and preceding Marie Gluesenkamp Perez.

Biography[]

Jaime Herrera Beutler was born in Glendale, California in 1978, and she was raised in Ridgefield, Washington. She worked as a legislative aide before being elected to the US House of Representatives in 2010. She was a member of the Republican Party, and she held some moderate views, such as opposing the repeal of Obamacare and opposition to Donald Trump's ban on Muslim entry into the United States. On 13 January 2021, she was also one of only 10 Republicans to vote in favor of Trump's second impeachment, following the 2021 United States coup d'etat attempt. She was defeated for renomination in 2022.
