The Jagdwaffe was the Luftwaffe's fighter force during World War II. The Jagdwaffe used aircraft such as the Bf 109, Bf 110, Me 163, Me 262, and Fw 190, and it played a major role during the Battle of France, the Battle of Britain, and the war with the Soviet Union. During the war, Nazi Germany lost 21,452 fighters and 10,221 twin-engined fighters.
