Jacques de Coucy

Jacques de Coucy was the Governor of Boulogne in northern France. He prided himself on being the governor of what he called "the most beautiful city in France", and he intended to defend Boulogne to the last when King Henry VIII of England laid siege to the city during the Italian War of 1542-46. After the walls were undermined, he presented King Henry with the keys of the city and congratulated him on its capture.
