
Jacob Romeis (1 December 1835-8 March 1904) was the Republican Mayor of Toledo, Ohio from 1879 to 1885 (succeeding William W. Jones and preceding Jacob W. Scheets) and a member of the US House of Representatives (R-OH 10) from 4 March 1885 to 3 March 1889 (succeeding Frank H. Hurd and preceding William E. Haynes). Born in Weisenbach, Bavaria, he emigrated to the United States at the age of 12 and went to school in Buffalo before moving to Toledo and working in the railroad business.
