Jacob Benton

Jacob Benton (19 August 1814 – 29 September 1892) was a member of the US House of Representatives (R-NH 3) from 4 March 1867 to 3 March 1871, succeeding James W. Patterson and preceding Hosea Washington Parker.

Biography[]

Jacob Benton was born in Waterford, Vermont in 1814, and he became a lawyer in Lancaster, New Hampshire in 1843. He served in the State House from 1854 to 1856 and in the US House of Representatives from 1867 to 1871, and he died in 1892.
