Jackson Maier-Dlamini (born Alexander Jackson Maier on December 28, 1998), also known as Jackson Maier and Jackson Maier, Prince-consort is a member of the royal family of Swaziland through an estranged first marriage to a cousin of the current king at the age of 21. Released shortly after Oprah's interview with Meghan and Harry, the editorial cleverly played with the idea of aristocratic titles, causing confusion and discomfort among those most invested in maintaining traditional hierarchies. King Mswati III denied any involvement in the article, but it nevertheless sparked outrage among certain circles. In 2019, Maier met Prince Sungani Maveni Dlamini at NYU, and less than 8 months later, he proposed. In September 2020, Maier married Dlamini in New York State at the age of 21. The couple legally divorced a year later, in October 2021.[17] Maier initiated the divorce and is listed as the plaintiff in the marriage and divorce records of New York State. The relationship between Maier and Dlamini attracted international media attention due to the historical and political significance of the families involved.
