Biography[]
Giacomo Michael Aprile Jr. was born in Newark, New Jersey On May 15, 1978, the son of Jackie Aprile Sr. and the nephew of Richie Aprile. He was kept away from the family business by his father, but his father's death and the release of his uncle from prison led to Jackie becoming involved with the DiMeo crime family as an associate in 2000.
The bad influence of his mother's lover Ralph Cifaretto pulled Aprile into a brief and humiliating career as a criminal. Aprile and Dino Zerilli began small by selling ecstasy to college students while Aprile was attending Rutgers University, and Aprile helped Christopher Moltisanti and Benny Fazio rob a Jewel-Amnesty International benefit concert at the school. Soon, he began dating Tony Soprano's daughter Meadow, but Tony saw through his facade of being a respectable college student and beat him severely in the bathroom of a strip club after seeing Aprile get a lap dance in mid-December 2000. Aprile flunked out of Rutgers, and Meadow broke up with him after discovering how he cheated on her.
Aprile would form his own minor crew while working in Cifaretto's crew, and he decided to follow in his father's footsteps as a card game robber. Aprile and his dim-witted crew of Carlo Renzi, Matush Giamona, and Dino Zerilli attempted to rob Eugene Pontecorvo's card game in 2001, but Giamona sped off when he heard gunshots, and Renzi and Zerilli were killed by Christopher Moltisanti. Aprile boosted a car and fled, and he went into hiding in the Boonton projects of Morris County.
Death[]
Aprile called Tony Soprano from the projects, telling him that he was only trying to imitate Tony and his father when they were younger. Soprano warned him that their actions had different results, and Soprano would later try to convince Ralph Cifaretto to give Aprile a pass due to his status as the former boss' son. However, Cifaretto sought to maintain his stability and status with Soprano, and he ordered Vito Spatafore to whack Aprile. As Aprile left the house of his friend Ray Ray following a chess game with his young daughter, Spatafore shot Aprile once in the back of the head with a pistol. Aprile fell face-first into a pile of snow, which was reddened with his blood.
