Jabez Williams Huntington (8 November 1788 – 1 November 1847) was a member of the US House of Representatives (NR-CN) from 4 March 1829 to 16 August 1834, succeeding John Baldwin and preceding Phineas Miner, and a US Senator from 4 May 1840 to 1 November 1847, succeeding Thaddeus Betts and preceding Roger Sherman Baldwin.

Biography[]

Jabez Williams Huntington was born in Norwich, Connecticut in 1788, and he became a lawyer in 1810. In 1828, he was elected to the State House of Representatives, but he was elected to the US House of Representatives a year later. He served until 1834, and he served on the Supreme Court of Errors from 1834 to 1840, when he was appointed to fill a vacancy in the US Senate. He served in the Senate until his death in 1847, upon which he was succeeded by Roger Sherman Baldwin.
