Jaasim Emami was an Afghan politician who ran for Governor of Helmand Province in 2011. Emami was a member of Jamiat-e Islami, supporting fundamentalist Islam and opposing America's infrastructure plans, while supporting American foreign aid and a pro-US defense policy. He and fellow Islamist candidate Bandar Mousa were defeated by the pro-American candidate Abdur Raheem Malak.
