John Hart Brewer (29 March 1844-21 December 1900) was a member of the US House of Representatives (R-NJ 2) from 4 March 1881 to 3 March 1885, succeeding Hezekiah B. Smith and preceding James Buchanan.
Biography[]
John Hart Brewer was born in Hunterdon County, New Jersey in 1844, and he moved to Trenton in 1865 and worked as a pottery manufacturer before serving in the US House of Representatives from 1881 to 1885. He went on to serve as assistant appraiser of merchandise at the port of New York City under President William McKinley, and he died in 1900.
