Biography[]

James Timothy Dolan was born in New Jersey on September 8th 1966 to a family of Irish descent. As an adult, Dolan struggled with alcoholism and drug problems. After moving to Pennsylvania, Dolan joined Alcholic's Anonymous where he met Christopher Moltisanti and became his sponsor.

Dolan returned to New Jersey in 2004 and expressed an interest in gambling, wherein Moltisanti offered Dolan to play in his executive card game. Accepting this offer, J.T. takes a loan from Chris but quickly wastes the money in a losing streak. Sometime after, Chris and Paulie Germani attacked Dolan in his apartment upon failing to pay the loan. Dolan attempted to pawn his Emmy Award in order pay off the debt without success. He soon lapsed back into drug use to which Chris is sympathetic, he settled on selling Dolan's car and figuring out the remaining payments at another time while J.T. is in rehab.

In 2005, Dolan comes out of rehab and began work as a writing professor in Los Angeles. The following April, while tutoring a class, Dolan is abducted by Benny Fazio and James Zancone to see Christopher, who told Dolan to be a part of his new movie in order to pay off the rest of what was owed.
