The Italian Democratic Socialist Party (PSDI) was an Italian social democratic party that existed from 1947 to 1998. The party was founded as a moderate splintergroup of the left-wing Italian Socialist Party, and the party held a center-left political outlook; it took part in a 1980-1994 coalition government with Christian Democracy, the Italian Socialist Party, Italian Republican Party, and the Italian Liberal Party, but the party almost disappeared from the political scene due to the Tangentopoli corruption scandal. It merged into the Italian Democratic Socialists after its downfall, and it was later reactivated in 2004 as a minor party.
