Israpil Velijanov (4 September 1968-18 April 2011) was the leader of Vilayat Dagestan from 2010 to 2011, succeeding Magomed Vagabov and preceding Ibragimkhalil Daudov.
Biography[]
Israpil Vlikanov was born on 4 September 1968 in Sanchi Kaitag, Dagestan RSFSR, in the Soviet Union to a Sunni Muslim family. He joined Ibn al-Khattab's training camp in 1998 and took part in the invasion of Dagestan with the Muslim Chechen rebels and the Second Chechen War, fighting against Russia. In 2010 he became the leader of Vilayat Dagestan, and on 18 April 2011 he was killed by Russian troops in a security operation near Tashkapur.
