The Islamic religious police of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria (MSHGB) was an executive body within the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria Ministry of Internal Affairs, existing from 1992 to 2006. It had the jurisdiction to carry out orders by sharia courts and also served as prison guards, The religious police was led by Abdel-Malik Mezhidov, and it had a strength of 1,300 personnel until it was dissolved following the Second Chechen War.
