Isidro Miaja was a Spanish Army general during the Carlist War of 1866. Born into an aristocratic Spanish family, he rose to command the 42,000-strong 1st Army in Catalonia during the 1860s, and, from 1866 to 1867, he led his army across northern Spain and into Andalusia to the south to defeat the Carlist uprisings across the country.
