
Isidro Ayora (31 August 1879-22 March 1978) was President of Ecuador from 6 April 1926 to 24 August 1931, succeeding Julio Enrique Moreno and preceding Luis Larrea Alba.
Biography[]
Isidro Ayora was born in Loja, Ecuador in 1879. He studied in Germany before becoming a hospital director and surgeon, and he served as Mayor of Quito in 1925 and deputy for Loja. He was elected President in 1926 as the Ecuadorian Radical Liberal Party candidate, and he resigned in 1931. He returned to his practice of medicine and died in 1978 at the age of 98.
