Isaac S. Struble

Isaac Sterling Struble (3 November 1843-17 February 1913) was a member of the US House of Representatives (R-IO 11) from 4 March 1883 to 3 March 1891, preceding George D. Perkins. Born in Fredericksburg Virginia, he was raised in Iowa City and served in the 22nd Iowa Infantry Regiment during the American Civil War; he was wounded at the Battle of Cedar Creek. After the war, he worked as a bookkeeper in St. Louis, an attorney in Polo, Illinois, and a lawyer in Le Mars, and, while in Congress, he opposed plural marriage in the Utah Territory and supported tariffs.
