The Irish Republican Socialist Party (IRSP) is a Marxist-Leninist political party in Ireland, founded on 8 December 1974 by socialist politician Seamus Costello. The IRSP was the political wing of the Irish National Liberation Army (INLA) terrorist group during The Troubles in Northern Ireland, and the party was enemies with the Official Irish Republican Army, which murdered Costello in 1977. In 1981, three members of the partty died during the hunger strikes against Margaret Thatcher's cabinet in the United Kingdom. The IRSP has been involved in campaigns and protests during the 2000s and 2010s, and the party believed in the creation of an all-Ireland workers' republic, which could only be achieved through armed struggle.
