Most Iraqis are descendants of both the Arabs as well as the original groups in the country such as the Assyrians, Babylonians, and Persians, and over 38,750,000 Iraqis live across the world. 31,234,000 people live in Iraq, 2,000,000+ in Syria, 500,000 in Jordan, Iran, and Turkey each, 600,000 in Israel, 450,000 in the United Kingdom, 150,000 in Egypt, Germany, and the United Arab Emirates, 140,000 in the United States, 120,000 in Sweden, 100,000 in Kuwait, Lebanon, and Yemen, 80,000 in Australia, 60,000 in the Netherlands, and 40,000 in Greece. 97% of Iraqis are Muslim, either Shia or Sunni, and the other 3% are either Christian, Yazidi, or Jewish.
