Inwood

Inwood is a neighborhood on the northern tip on Manhattan, New York City, bounded by the Harlem River to the north and east and by the Hudson River to the west. It was not until the 1930s that Inwood was fully incorporated into urban New York, as it was once a rural area. Murders, rapes, robberies, and felony assaults were common in the neighborhood in 2009 and 2010, and Inwood was once one of the most dangerous neighborhoods of New York; crime rates dropped after 2009 by 83% as a result of increased NYPD presence in the neighborhood.
