International Longshoremen's Association

The International Longshoremen's Association (ILA) is a labor union representing longshoremen in the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico, founded in 1892. The longshoremen's association has had a history of organized crime connections, leading to the American Federation of Labor ejecting the ILA in 1953. The ILA has since cleaned house, and it had 65,000 members in 2010.
