The Indochinese Communist Party (ICP) was a communist political party in French Indochina that existed from October 1930 to 11 November 1945. The party was formed after the Comintern demanded that the Vietnamese communist party be expanded to include all of Indochina, and Ho Chi Minh led the party during the anti-imperialist struggle against France. During World War II, the ICP took part in guerrilla warfare against Japan as a member of the Allied Powers. In 1945, the ICP became the Communist Party of Vietnam after the end of the war.
