Indian Subcontinent

The Indian Subcontinent, also known as South Asia, is a southern region of Asia that is located south of the Himalayas and surrounded on three sides by the Indian Ocean. The core regions are India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh, but Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and the Maldives are also included in the definition. The region is diverse in religion and ethnicity, with most Indians, Maldivians, Tamils, Sinhalese, and Bengalis being Dravidians while many Pakistanis are either Pashtuns or Punjabis, many Nepalese are a mixture of Indian and East Asian people, and most Bhutanese are Asian.
