Ilham Ibrahim (1983-21 April 2019) was a National Thowheeth Jama'ath (NTJ) suicide bomber who took part in the 2019 Sri Lanka Easter bombings. He was the brother of Inshaf Ibrahim, one of the other suicide bombers, and was the husband of another bomber.
Biography[]
Ilham Ibrahim was born in 1983, the son of businessman Yoonus Ibrahim and the brother of Inshaf Ibrahim. He came from a wealthy and well-educated family, but he openly expresesd extremist ideologies and was involved in the meetings of National Thowheeth Jama'ath. His wife also joined the NTJ, and he ultimately convinced his brother to join NTJ. On 21 April 2019, the brothers and Ilham's wife took part in the 2019 Sri Lanka Easter bombings. Ilham was the second suicide bomber to strike the Shangri-La Hotel, blowing himself up at a breakfast buffet.
