Il Carnefice (1473 - January 1500) was an executioner for the Papal States and an enforcer of Cesare Borgia.
Biography[]
Il Carnefice was the executioner hired by the House of Borgia to kill opponents to their rule in Rome around 1497. He was disgusting in his executions, often cutting off parts of the prisoners' bodies and putting them on display.
His downfall came in 1500 when he attempted to rape a woman named Livia. After he did so, he had her hanged, and her husband was prevented from cutting the ropes on the pain of being hanged himself. He begged a man named Ezio Auditore da Firenze to kill Il Carnefice.
Death[]

Il Carnefice lived on a mansion overlooking the gallows, so Ezio ascended the hill and headed to the mansion. Ezio took aim with his hidden gun and shot him through the right arm and waist. He died instantly, and Ezio told him to rest in peace.
