Biography[]

Ikeda Noriyori was the daimyo of the Ikeda clan of central Honshu, and he aligned with the Southern Court during the Nanboku-cho period of Japanese history. Noriyori formed a military alliance with Ashikaga Takauji, however, in 1351. Hoping to secure his borders, he established friendly relations with the Ashikaga, although this alliance ended when Takauji attacked his Yamana allies. In late 1351, the Ashikaga besieged Fukuhara, and Noriyori was killed in the battle against his former allies.
