Ibrahim ibn al-Walid (703-3 November 744) was the Caliph for just a few weeks in 744, succeeding Yazid III and preceding Marwan II.
Biography[]
Ibrahim was a son of al-Walid I, and he was named the heir apparent of his brother Yazid III. Ibrahim was supported by the future Marwan II, then the governor of the Caucasus, against his brother in a power struggle, but he was later deserted by him. In 744 he became caliph on his brother's death, but he died after just a few weeks and Marwan succeeded him.
