Ibrahim Najjar

Ibrahim Najjar (1941-) was Minister of Justice of Lebanon from July 2008 to June 2011, preceding Shakib Qortbawi.

Biography[]

Ibrahim Najjar was born in 1941 in Tripoli, Lebanon to a family of Orthodox Christian Arabs. Najjar studied law in both Lebanon and France, and he became a professor at Saint Joseph University in 1966. He joined the Kataeb Party in the early 1960s, and in July 2008 he was appointed Minister of Justice by Future Movement Prime Minister Fouad Siniora as a member of the March 14 Alliance. He left office in June 2011, and Shakib Qortbawi became the new Minister of Justice.
