Ibrahim Aziz Shakib (24 June 1895-14 April 1962) was an olive oil merchant from the Ottoman Empire.
Biography[]
Ibrahim Aziz Shakib was born on 24 June 1895 in Abu Dis, Palestine to a Sunni Muslim family of Palestinians. Shakib inherited his father Musa's olive fields in the village and later purchased other fields, becoming a businessman within Ottoman Palestine. Shakib amassed a fortune of what would today be $300,000 USD from his business, which had markets across Palestine and even Jordan. Shakib's family built an estate in Abu Dis, where his son Abubakar Shakib would be born. Shakib's business was not inherited by Abubakar, who became an imam; instead, he sold it to a foreign company before his death in 1962.
