Iacopo de Grassi (died 1500) was a Captain in the Papal Army during the rule of Pope Alexander VI.
Biography[]
De Grassi served as a captain in the Papal Army, and he was given command of a Borgia tower in the Centro district of Rome. De Grassi was ordered to enforce the will of the Borgia family in his district, and Niccolo Machiavelli told Ezio Auditore da Firenze's oppression of the people from his tower. Auditore confronted De Grassi in January 1500 and killed him after a sword fight, and he proceeded to burn down his tower, liberating the area from Borgia control.
