The IJA 11th Division was an infantry division of the Imperial Japanese Army that was active from 1898 to 1945. One of six new infantry divisions raised after the First Sino-Japanese War, the division fought in the Russo-Japanese War, the Second Sino-Japanese War, and in China, Guam, and Shikoku during World War II. A large part of the division reinforced the IJA 1st Division on Guam and was annihilated at the Battle of Guam in July-August 1944, while the remainder was stationed on Shikoku in anticipation of Operation Downfall. It surrendered in August 1945.
