
Hun Manet (20 October 1977-) was Prime Minister of Cambodia from 10 August 2023, succeeding Hun Sen.
Biography[]
Hun Manet was born in Memot, Democratic Kampuchea in 1977, the son of Hun Sen and the brother of Hun Manith. Raised in Phnom Penh, he joined the army in 1995 and graduated from West Point in 1999, becoming the first Cambodian to do so. He rose to the rank of General and commander of the Royal Cambodian Army, while also heading his father's bodyguards and the national conservative Cambodian People's Party's youth wing. In 2023, he was elected MP for Phnom Penh and was handpicked by his father to succeed him as prime minister.
